So according to the modern world Valentine’s Day is the day where couples express their love for each other as if it’s the only day they ever say those three little words ‘I love you’. This in turn turns into a social media frenzy with pictures of roses, extravagant gifts, expensive meals and surprise trips. Making those who aren’t in a relationship hate the day and ending up with everyone forgetting why it’s even a date in our calendar in the first place.

St. Valentine

The date of Valentine’s Day is in the calendar as a ‘feast day’ to celebrate St. Valentine. Although history of this saint varies widely he is the Patron Saint of affianced couples, engaged couples, happy marriages, love and lovers. Hence the celebration of love we see in modern society.

What you may not have known is that he is also the Patron Saint of bee keepers, epilepsy, fainting greetings, plague, travellers and young people. Somehow we think some of these aren’t as marketable as love.

Gifts for Valentine’s Day can vary greatly with some people happy with a card with heartfelt words, some happy with a gorgeous bunch of flowers and others to just spend a day as a couple.  Did you know however that according to recent studies 53% of people would ‘dump’ their other half if they weren’t to receive a present on Valentine’s Day.

Here at KAE we want to ‘share the love’ a little and say a big heartfelt thank you to all of our students who love our courses and continue to help us grow.

The tradition of gift giving for Valentine’s Day actually started in 18th century England where lovers expressed their feelings for each other by presenting flowers, offering confectionery and sending greetings cards. In Europe St. Valentine’s Keys are given to lovers as a romantic symbol and an invitation to unlock the giver’s heart.

At KAE we think we have a Valentine’s gift that is a little ‘outside the box’. Although you may not want to commit to gifting your loved one a course and worrying they may not want to learn that new skill, we offer a KAE Gift Voucher. They can be used as full or part payment towards a course of the recipient’s choice. We like to think it’s the gift with a bit more heart.

We love you

We think that you don’t have to have a significant other to celebrate Valentine’s Day. There are plenty of friends and family in our lives that deserve to be told they are loved and important to us too.

Here at KAE we want to ‘share the love’ a little and say a big heartfelt thank you to all of our students who love our courses and continue to help us grow.

We really like hearing about what you guys are up to whether that’s during one of our courses or after taking one of our courses. We’d love to hear from you about what you’ve been up to on our social media pages; Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.  Use the hashtag #KAEmyvalentine to tell us why you love being a part of KAE.

Whether you want to share why you love KAE, or give the perfect gift and make someone else fall in love with us, we’re the perfect place to celebrate St Valentine’s Day.
